Sacred Geometry
My son Corin has been making his own hand “cast” jewelry. He melts pennies down and separates the copper from the zinc. It’s the zinc he wants, and he forms amazing shapes, some embedded with coconut shell or gems.
He told me last week that he would like to make a piece for me, and another for my wife. He asked for ideas on patterns. My mind turned immediately to sacred geometry patterns, which I really enjoy using in my life.
What exactly is Sacred Geometry?
How can geometry be sacred? How can certain patterns hold meaning, and even healing?
I’d like to explore this today. This is a bit of a challenge as I’ve never written about sacred geometry before, even though it’s been a part of my life for many years.
In order to share some ideas on sacred geometry with my kids, I showed them this little video about Donald Duck discovering sacred geometry. It’s a fun way to learn some of the basic ideas!
Yes, there are certain patterns, shapes, designs, and mathematical proportions that exist in creation itself. These are evident in music, plants, and even the proportions of the human body. In both ancient and modern times, architects have used sacred geometry in all types of buildings.
I sleep with this Flower of Life Pattern (printed on cardstock) under my pillow. I find that I dream more and sleep better.
Don’t get caught up with the terms “Sacred” or “Geometry”. The word Sacred turns some people off because of the religious connotations. You can just think instead of “Life-Enhancing” patterns and designs if you wish.
And “Geometry” is the last thing that you may want to engage in if you had a bad experience with “Geometry” in high school. Instead, just use the words patterns, designs, and proportions.
So, sacred geometry consists of life enhancing patterns, art, and designs. The reason that these designs and shapes can increase your vibrations and open your mind is that they are designs of creation itself. What this means is that you will find these designs in atoms, plants, cells, galaxies, and much more.
I believe that learning and using sacred geometry will help you use your mind more powerfully as a creator. The physical world will “resonate” with your thought designs and blueprints and thus you can attract physical matter to your holographic creations.
You don’t have to “do” geometry to use and enjoy these designs. One way to use sacred geometry is to wear and display jewelry based on these designs. You can also use them in meditation. Or, you can print out some designs and put them under your pillow. You can also enjoy art and nature that exhibit these patterns.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this simple introduction. I don’t have room here to give you lots of examples of sacred geometry, but you can just look up “simple sacred geometry” on Google and you’ll see many interesting and intriguing examples.
One recommendation I will give you is to learn the meaning of the patterns, and also how some patterns can grow into other patterns. Follow the “Egg of Life” into the “Seed of Life” and into the “Flower of Life”. Then discover offshoots of this process, such as the “Fruit of Life” or “Metatron’s Cube”.
Explore, learn, and have fun!
